We live in the woods….need I say more. This has helped immensely.
Buzz Off from Y’Darb Naturals sits on my back patio as a permanent go to anytime I am outside. My husband and I spray this on ourselves as we work in the yard and garden and while enjoying the porch. Most recently I have used on the leaves of my rose bushes and on a Japanese cucumber plant in the garden when something was taking a nibble, bug wise. Never ever saw a bug again. Everyone who comes to the porch shakes, and sprays, and enjoys their time bug bite free. Very fresh scent, you are not dealing with a harsh smell like the big box stores smell. Though I have no kids I would feel very comfortable spraying on a child to ensure no bites on a woods walk or beach trip. Yes, I said beach. Gnats are a huge thing at the beach! Buzz off is really wonderful and its spray bottle is so convenient to spray yourself or anyone else that needs protection.
